About Us

Root Alchemy Institute (RAI) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to transforming how health is understood and approached by creating healing systems that integrate indigenous, decolonized, spiritually rooted, and holistic methodologies. We are dedicated to empowering individuals to reclaim sovereignty and agency in their healing journeys.

Our work provides transformational healing and alchemy across various dimensions—mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, energetic, ancestral, metaphysical, and the subconscious—while expanding conventional Western medical approaches to these areas of health. We actualize these goals and more through practitioner trainings, mentorship, direct healing services, educational resources, strategic partnerships, integration, and advocacy work.

We honor ancestral and ancient wisdom alongside innovative healing methodologies and alternative medicines, offering alternative pathways to individuals on their healing journeys as well as practitioners seeking trainings beyond mainstream options. We strive to effect a paradigm shift and establish inclusive, sustainable, and transformational approaches to healing and health.

Our team is a group of aligned and like minded holistic healing practitioners, holistic-centered clinically trained practitioners, spiritual practitioners, teachers , activists and visionaries who feel deep resonance with RAI's mission and broader vision, many of which have been through their own awakening and healing journeys and feel called to contribute to creating new paradigms.

Our Intention

Our intention is to hold space for healing that honors each person’s wholeness and humanity. Rooted in the belief that true transformation is possible, we aim to show that another way exists by providing an alternative for those seeking new approaches, services, learning opportunities, and spaces that resonate on a deeper level.

Our work is fueled by the transformative impact we’ve witnessed in the lives of those we’ve served. In all that we do, we seek to convey the power of alchemy—the ability to transmute any experience and to find purpose within it. We are here to create an environment where individuals feel seen, understood, and empowered to journey through healing in a way that resonates with their entire being.

We envision a world where holistic, integrative, indigenous, and decolonized healing practices are seen as the new standard for wellness, embraced within and beyond conventional healthcare. A movement that catalyzes a global shift toward a more holistically minded approach to healing. We see people breaking free from cycles of suffering and limitation, empowered to embrace growth, deep healing and new possibilities while reclaiming their well-being, and awakening to their highest selves.

They are supported by practitioners and systems offering inclusive, solution-oriented, and culturally and spiritually relevant care. We envision accessible alternatives for those whose healing and training needs are not met by mainstream approaches.

"My daughter was struggling with all-consuming depression and anxiety, saw a therapist and psychiatrist for medication but did not appear to be making headway. She did not want to get out of bed. Her depression was all consuming. She would not eat. Her weight loss was alarming. And slowly, the girl I always knew began to emerge. "My energy healing sessions with Selome have been transformative to say the least! In one of my sessions I experienced Current Life Regression as it took me back to various moments in my childhood where forgotten both happy and traumatic childhood memories came back to me. It was extremely intense because there were so many memories that were buried deep in my subconscious but were coming up to be felt and released. "During my healing sessions with Selome, I was able to heal and open up to connections with various guides and ancestors. During an ancestral healing session, I found myself shaking quite a bit. I began thinking about my dad and I was hearing a voice. I asked the voice, is this my dad, and it said yes. I started weeping, like sobbing howls, and felt him all around me. I received clear information about why he passed away in the way he did, something I had been specifically seeking for a long time. Then I heard a voice say, there is a cry buried deep deep inside of you, and until you let that cry out, you won't be able to find your voice, and I just started crying deeply. "One of the intentions I set during my healing sessions with Selome in the Healing at the Root Program was to heal a recurring cyst that causing me a lot of intense pain and discomfort. The doctors gave me medication but it wasn't helping. We also focused on releasing the emotional roots that the cyst was connected to, which we discovered was me neglecting my own self-care and my people-pleasing pattern. After a couple of sessions, I was amazed to see that the cyst cleared up entirely, the pain disappeared, and the inflammation went away! The wound that the cyst created had healed fully, and I felt completely free of this issue that seemed to be unending before. It was also fascinating because I began to notice that my tendency to people please was actually changing too. Selome also gave me some specific tools and practices to do to be able to say no to people more easily. Its so incredible to see the power of this work!"

"During one of my ancestral sessions, my father came through with a powerful and comforting message. He shared his experience of what happened after he passed, describing it in a way that brought me immense peace and clarity. I heard him say “When you guys are on earth, mourning our loss, you’re wearing black. But on this side, when we cross over and are welcomed, we’re all wearing white, and we’re happy. When we get here, it’s really nice, bright, and light.” Hearing this felt like a gift. He reassured me that the journey to the other side is beautiful and full of joy, even though the process of letting go can feel scary and hard. This message gave me a new perspective on grief and helped me feel more at peace with his passing. Knowing that he was happy, surrounded by light, and in a place of joy on the other side eased so much of the heaviness I had been carrying. "Working with Selome in Healing at the Root has been one of the biggest transformations I have yet to experience! I stopped talking to my therapist and uncovered some things immediately once I started Healing at the Root that I had been trying to uncover with her; this work helped me heal intergenerational trauma within myself and unlocked my ability to conduct ancestral and intergenerational healing. I also had excessive intrusive violent thoughts that I could not or did not think I could control for two years. "I reached out to Selome because I was feeling called to do ancestral healing work and develop a connection with a spirit guide. When we started, the spirit guide who came through in my sessions pretty quickly was my maternal grandmother—feeling her presence with me, hearing messages from her during sessions and afterwards, noticing her sending me signs here and there, and just feeling a connection to something higher than myself. I also see my grandmother in my dreams now, and see and feel her when I partake in my practices like yoga or meditation. I was shocked at how straightforward it was! I remember in one of the sessions I heard her say “I’m looking for a place to land” and we discovered that was her way of telling me to create an altar so we can connect there. Anytime I felt like I was struggling, I felt her energy and I felt suddenly stronger, emboldened, connected. "Working with Selome was the best decision I ever made! The Healing at the Root program changed my life. I came into it storing a lot of pain, trauma, and anxiety. There came a point where I noticed that I was letting go of things that used to torment me. I felt free from those mental traps. My anxiety, which used to be debilitating at times, no longer is present. "While Selome was treating me, I felt various sensations throughout my body and felt as if my spirit was being elevated. I had an "out of body" experience. During the session I began to feel movement in my nasal and sinus area; it felt as if something was being pulled out. After the session ended I woke up out of my calm state and burst into tears. "Many years ago I had gone into a shell, and stopped being outgoing, talkative, and happy; something had silenced me, but I wasn’t sure what it was or how it happened. “My energy healing and intuitive counseling session with Selome felt like an exorcism! I felt some kneading and pulling. I felt a knot rolling around in my womb and sacral chakra. It felt heavy. Then I became overwhelmed with grief and sorrow. I was trying to fight it because it wasn’t comfortable. I didn’t want to let go of whatever was moving inside of me. I was fighting back tears and I started trembling. I couldn’t believe how all of a sudden I was feeling so heavy with pain. I knew what was coming up was old pain I was carrying from childhood, but I intuitively knew it wasn’t all mine, I could feel that it was my parents and ancestors pain that I had been holding too. I focused on my breathing, exhaled slowly and more tears came. It was intense but I knew I had to let go of what I had been holding. In the beginning I also felt on my crown chakra a very airy and euphoric feeling. It felt like a shower for my brain."

"As the session began, I felt an intense release—it was as if all these things related to medical treatments and diagnoses were being pulled out of my body. I could feel myself becoming lighter, emotionally and physically happier, more balanced. At one point, I sensed something metallic around my neck and had visions of standing in a field, with a dense forest on one side. I felt a energy shift occur, and felt things lifting from my heart and back, as if burdens were dissolving. My head and heart realigned and I started feeling clarity and wholeness. I could also feel a dense energy releasing from the right side of my head, something that had been interfering without me even realizing it. Then a thick black tar-like substance started moving out of my ears and jaw. I intuitively knew it was all the sickness I’d carried, the medications, the things that no longer served me, the ways I had been playing small. I could actually feel them leaving my body. I started to experience my breath and energy leaving my body—it was disorienting, like I was suffocating. But I realized this was fear leaving me. I brought my breath back, reclaimed my energy, and for the first time, I could hear my own voice. There was a moment where I felt completely out of control, like something else was pulling at me. I felt some anxiety surface and something was trying to leave my stomach and I couldn’t control what it was. I felt an intense opening in my skull—the two hemispheres of my mind swirling upward and outward into space. And then, I felt some old programming, deep-seated beliefs and thought patterns leaving my head."

Direct Services

Root Alchemy Institute (RAI) offers direct healing services and sessions for both individuals and groups that emphasize the importance of aftercare and integration support. We do this by providing participants with tools and practices to implement in between and outside of sessions as their journey continues to create the reality they desire, as well as contextualizing their experiences in the traditions and histories of their ancestors and the unique journey of their soul. Our offerings intend to encourage sovereignty, agency and control over one's mental, spiritual, emotional, physical and energetic well-being.

Through both one-on-one sessions and group experiences, we support clients on their healing and awakening journeys with compassion, integrity, and a deeply held commitment to creating a nurturing and heartfelt space. RAI trainings offer a comprehensive foundation in transformative, integrative care. We offer both short-term and long-term trainings, available in in-person and virtual formats, as well as workshops, webinars, and short courses available not only to individuals but also university student groups, professional associations, departments of health, spiritual centers, and more. Clinical Professionals: For licensed professionals in the mental health, medical, or allied health fields who are seeking to incorporate alternative and holistic techniques into their traditional practice, and/or to have a deeper understanding of what their patients may be experiencing outside of their understanding and be connected to the proper referral channels
Birth of the Healer: For individuals who have undergone or currently undergoing significant personal and spiritual growth and initiation through their own healing journey and feel that their calling is to share their insights and support others on their healing journeys as healing practitioners.
